Malden cops seek man in fatal shooting, robbery

An Everett man is wanted in the cold-blood killing of a 30-year-old woman in a Malden home Tuesday morning.

Erin Fitzgibbon, 30, of Everett, was found by police with a gunshot wound to the head when police responded to the Fairmont Street home in Malden where a robbery and shooting were reported.

Police are seeking Brian Butler, 30, last known address in Everett, on a slate of charges including murder, armed home invasion, armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded firearm.

Police say Butler is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He’s 6 feet, 3 inches and 180 pounds.

At approximately 7:17 a.m. Tuesday, police say they got a call reporting a robbery and that someone had been shot. Butler was known to the parties reporting the deadly shooting. Upon arrival, police found Fitzgibbon in the home with a gunshot wound to the head.

She was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where she later died.
