Finally, it’s about time …

Say what you want but the RAM 1500 TRX is here and we are in shock and awe. With over 135 subscriber/reader requests for a RAM 1500 TRX review, the moment you all have been waiting for is here. Stellantis’ takes my favorite RAM 1500 pickup truck, gives it a total off-road make-over and adds the best name in the book, TRX into what is the coolest pickup truck on the market today.

Although it is not a dinosaur, it might as well be as it towers over the rest in its class exceeding a ride height of 11.8 inches. With its ability to go over obstacles at high speeds, this ride height is 2 inches higher than normal 1500 pickups while our TRX rides on Goodyear Wrangler 325/65R18 Territory tires, which helps that much more.

With 702 earth-shattering horsepower from its 6.2 liter Supercharged HEMI V8 SRT engine, RAM outdid itself as this truck is absolutely unbelievable. Its ability to get up and go is ridiculous. A 33-gallon fuel tank is also present giving the TRX over 350 miles on average per tank, and even a little more if you are gas pedal friendly.

With the best infotainment system in the business, our 1500 TRX came with the UConnect system which was perfectly located in the vehicle at over 12 inch vertically positioned. It also came with Navigation which was user friendly and very clear to see on the screen. This system is the most user friendly in the business and hands down the easiest to navigate for consumers.

If you know Stellantis, you know its list of options, which we can’t get enough of. On our Granite Crystal Metallic TRX, we enjoyed the Technology package including Heads Up display, the Advanced safety package, for adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist as well as the $1,295 carbon-fiber interior accents. But most importantly of all, the TRX Level 2 equipment package including ventilated seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel, full-length floor console, LED ambient lighting, heated everything and remote start. A 19-speaker upgraded Harman Kardon speaker system was also optioned up on our tester.

Competing directly with Ford’s Raptor, the TRX stands out exponentially. It not only has the ride quality, interior comfort and ride height advantage, but RAM knows trucks, hence the reason my friends all drive them. And if you need more convincing, did I mention the SRT Hemi? I don’t think I need to, but if you have any doubt, that will make up your mind that much faster!
