Parents always need some inspiration about how to keep the kids entertained at home, particularly during the last year spent in lockdown.
Be it a rainy day during the school holidays or over a particularly drizzly weekend, finding some entertainment can often be a tricky task.
One thing you could try doing – if you’ve not done it before – is making your very own playdough.
It’s easy enough – and is a fun hands on activity in and of itself – but just what’s the recipe? Here’s what you need to know…
How can you make playdough at home?
Here’s how you can make your own playdough from a few simple items:
- 250g plain flour
- 140ml water
- 50g salt
- 1-2 tablespoons cooking oil
- few drops of food colouring
Mix the flour and salt in a mixing bowl and add the water and oil
Knead well for about 10 mins until the mixture is smooth. Add more water or flour if necessary
Add food colouring and knead until it is blended
Store in a plastic bag in the fridge until it is properly chilled.
From there it is good to go!
Try making a variety of colours to help bring your child’s creativity to life!
