Video: Authorities looking for snowmobiler in Lake Minnetonka hit-and-run

The Hennepin County sheriff’s office released a video of a January hit-and-run crash in which a Lake Minnetonka snowmobiler struck and injured a woman in a fish house, in hopes that the public can help them identify the driver.

Officials say the crash occurred at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 on Wayzata Bay when two speeding snowmobiles headed toward a portable fish house. One of the snowmobilers struck the fish house and injured the woman inside. A man who had been inside with the woman had stepped out to check his fishing rod and was not injured.

Neither snowmobiler stopped to help and fled the bay via the Lower Lake, which is where they had entered the bay, authorities said.

Investigators believe the snowmobile involved is a newer Skidoo and likely has front-end damage, including damage to the windshield.
