Real Madrid have decided to sell on-loan Arsenal duo Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos this summer, according to reports.
Ceballos is currently in his second season with the Gunners having been initially signed on a one-year loan deal during Unai Emery’s reign.
Odegaard, meanwhile, joined Arsenal on loan for the remainder of the season in the January transfer window having failed to secure a regular role under Zinedine Zidane.
The Norway international has made a swift impact since for Mikel Arteta’s side and the Gunners are now keen to extend the deal beyond the current season.
According to The Times, Real Madrid need to improve their finances if they are to compete in the race to sign Erling Haaland this summer and as a result, the Spanish champions are willing to offload both Odegaard and Ceballos.
The report claims that Madrid are also looking to sell Gareth Bale, Brahim Diaz and Luka Jovic, who are also out on loan.
Last week, reports claimed that Odegaard has privately told friends that he is keen to remain at Arsenal.
Speaking about his future this month, Odegaard said: ‘We’ll see what happens this summer. I’ve said things before that I still stand for: stability and development are key words.
‘It’s been improving from the very beginning. I feel I quickly adapted and understood how we play. I lacked match fitness and self-confidence.
‘The more games I’ve played, the better I’ve become. It’s a rising curve.’
Both Odegaard and Ceballos have stressed that their aim is to secure a regular starting spot at Madrid. But the prospect of that looks unlikely with Zidane still in charge.
