Downton Abbey star Jim Carter has spoken about his daughter Bessie Carter, celebrating her success in the hugely successful Bridgerton.

Bessie plays Prudence Featherington in the hit Netflix show, and her dad says she ‘had a wonderful time’ filming the drama.

Jim, known for playing Mr Carter on Downton Abbey, was speaking on Lorraine when he was asked about 27-year-old daughter Bessie.

The actor told the host: ‘We’re delighted, it’s been a huge success.’

He added: ‘Bessie has had a wonderful time doing it. I’m thrilled.’

Bessie’s character Prudence is one of the sisters in the Featherington family, who are all looking for suitable husbands on the Netflix show.

She stars alongside the likes of Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor on the Netflix drama, which is returning for a second season after becoming the biggest hit on the streaming platform.

Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey recently promised that sex scenes will be turned up to 11 as the dashing Viscount Anthony starts looking for his match.

Speaking to The Mirror, Jonathan said: ‘The thing that’s so at the heart of Bridgerton is intimacy and identity and sexuality – and so of course that’s something we’re going to have to make sure we continue with.

Meanwhile, Downton Abbey star Jim previously confirmed that a second movie is in the works and is scheduled to film in 2021.

Bridgerton is available to watch on Netflix.
