Minnesotan Michelle Young moves on to hometowns on “The Bachelor”

Matt James didn’t get a chance to visit the Twin Cities, but the hometown contestant on “The Bachelor,” Michelle Young, moved on to hometowns.

Young nabbed a rose on Monday night’s episode, meaning she is one of four contestants left in the dating competition, and as such, James, the bachelor, had a chance to meet her family. That experience will be shown on next week’s episode.

Typically, the lead would travel to the contestant’s hometown, however because of COVID-19, Young’s family instead joined the quarantine bubble at Nemacolin Resort in Pennsylvania, where filming took place.

Young, who has had a strong connection with James since joining the show, received a rose shortly before the episode ended, earning the final rose of the night.

“I’m fully invested in Matt. He’s the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. He’s the person that I want to have a family with,” Young said before getting the rose. “Getting sent home at this point, my heart’s going to be broken.”

Early in the episode, the two had reaffirmed their connection, with Young telling James she was 100 percent committed to him and their relationship.

“From the first moment I met you, I just wanted to know more and spend more time with you,” he responded.

The end of the episode showed Young showing off her silly — and athletic side — doing a few pushups with a rose between her teeth before proposing a toast.
